Free Beer Hot
Wings Zane
|
“They
made ESPN’s Top 10 plays of the week by dropping a bowling
ball on a car. On XM satellite radio, during the Opie and
Anthony Show, listeners called in and talked about their weird
name. And now, through a syndication deal, the national
audience for WGRD-FM’s Free Beer and Hot Wings Show continues
to grow. Stations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New
Hampshire have picked up the irreverent morning show based in
Grand Rapids” writes Colleen Pierson with The Grand Rapids
Press.
This
talented team has been on the air for just over a year and the
show’s ratings continue to rise as the word spreads around
West Michigan and beyond! The Air Personalities include Gregg
Daniels (aka Free Beer), Chris Michels (aka Hot Wings) and
Eric Zane. All three are graduates of Central Michigan
University. “We have so much fun on the air, we are tired from
all the laughing,” Free Beer said. “I get to goof off with two
of my best friends; I’m very lucky,” Hot Wings said. The
addition of Zane “just sort of evolved” and has proven to be a
key ingredient in the show’s creativity, adds Free Beer. |

JT
|
Although
raised in Florida, (which probably explains the Miami Dolphins
shrine in his office) JT has spent the last 15 years in
Michigan Radio, from Lapeer to Flint to Saginaw and now on to
Grand Rapids. As Program Director for WGRD and WNWZ (plus air
talent for WGRD), JT’s goal is to put the absolute best
product on the air. “Putting together bigger-than-life
promotions or compelling pieces of audio on the air has to be
the best part of my job!”
Besides Radio, JT loves family, friends, football, golf,
music, beer and Heather Locklear!
You
can hear JT on WGRD weekdays from 10am – 2pm during the Liquid
Lunch Request show. Listen for lots of giveaways, tons of
topical discussion, and other savory features. This show
boasts the easiest trivia game in the world with “Easy Trivia
with JT”. Remote Controlled Lawnmowers, Camera Grenades, and
Nicotine Beer are just a few of the slightly left-of-center
gadgetry highlighted on “Gadget Of The Day” weekdays at 12:30
and don’t forget, Requests! The Liquid Lunch Request Hour
brings an hour’s worth of music that the listeners get to
choose every day at noon. |
